Our Take on the Live Edge

This is our take on the Spalted Maple Table. The slab was sourced from a notable woodsman, harvested and sawn in the mountains of Rensselaer county. The delicate edges are supported by a series of wrought and forged ties and braces. The steel base is made to continue the same effect, creating a cohesive connection between the base material and the natural slab. We thought often of the beautiful place from which the slab came from and the perfect afternoon spent with a knowledgeable woodsman.  

The table is set to an end table height and would work well as a small coffee table. The maple is finished in polyurethane and the steel is finished in a durable lacquer finish to preserve the natural blue of the steel.
