ROSIE is inspired by researching some of the mid century classic styles of coffee tables. It is sturdy and stable and yet the top looks almost unsubstantial. But in fact, it is a rather heavy single piece of reclaimed lumber dating back to the late 1800's. The thin edge is created using an old Shaker technique of using a deep taper on board edges. That combined with heavily profiled welded steel legs providing a weighted look and feel to a truly usable sitting room table, one you aren't afraid to use and enjoy. The table top finish is a marine grade spar polyurethane of many coats. The steel is sanded smooth and finished in clear lacquer to preserve the natural marks of workmanship.
